CAMPBELL, James J., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., circa 1870; building contractor; school director; president, Philadelphia Tile Setters’ Union; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1911 and 1913 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1915 term; deputy collector, United States Internal Revenue Service (1915-1920); elected, city magistrate, Philadelphia (1920-1936); died, October 7, 1936 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Denis Cemetery, Havertown, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
