CAIRNS, Dr. Andrew A., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, June 22, 1864 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1887; doctor; assistant medical inspector, Bureau of Health, Philadelphia (1895-1902, 1905-1908); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1903 term; resigned from the House, May 9, 1903; chief medical inspector, Bureau of Health, Philadelphia (1909-1931); died, September 9, 1931 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
