BURNETT, Rogers Levering, a Representative from Monroe County; born in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pa., October 25, 1856; graduated, West Point Military Academy, 1878; lawyer; elected, district attorney, Monroe County (1884-1890); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898 and 1900 serving 2 consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1910); presidential appointee, United States Attorney, Middle District of Pennsylvania (1913-1921); died, July 9, 1930 in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania; interred, Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
