BROOKS, Thomas Edward, a Representative from York County, born, April 30, 1872 in Chanceford Township, York County, Pa.; graduated, York Academy; graduated, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); honorary doctorate of law, Ursinus College (1940); school teacher; elected, justice of the peace (4 years); employed, Ebert Furniture Company;  treasurer, Pennsylvania Stamping Company; owner and president, T.E. Brooks and Company, cigar manufacturers (1914-1951); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1919 and 1921 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922); director, York Hospital; president, Visiting Nurse Association (1926-1948); vice president and director, board of directors, Ursinus College;  president, board of education, Red Lion (1934-1946); president and director, First National Bank and Trust of Red Lion; died, November 26, 1951 in Red Lion, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Red Lion Cemetery, Red Lion, York County, Pennsylvania.
