BOYD, James Slingluff, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pa., July 11, 1883; graduated, Norristown High School, 1900; graduated, University of Pennsylvania, 1905; journalist (1905-1909); magazine writer; sports editor; engaged in automobile business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1917 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1919-1922, 1927-1935); died in the office of Senate, March 13, 1935 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Montgomery Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
