BLACK, A.H.S., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in New Berlin, Union County, Pa., February 7, 1865; attended, Union Seminary; attended, Chamberlain Institute, Randolf, NY; attended, Duff’s Commercial College; served, Company D, 16th Regiment and Company H, 18th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (6 years); furniture builder; undertaker; elected, auditor and clerk, Sharpsburg (1900-1909); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1908; resigned from the House in 1909; died, October 1, 1937 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred, Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
