BITTINGER, John R., a Representative from Adams County; born in Oxford Township, Adams County, Pa., December 30, 1849; farmer; employed, drug store; employed, lime manufacturing; stone and ballast shipping business; owner, limestone quarry (1870-1918); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1896; reelected to the House in 1902; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898, 1904); died, November 8, 1927 in Adams County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania.
