BIERMAN, E. Benjamin, a Representative from Lebanon County; born in Reading, Berks County, Pa., December 1, 1839; attended, Reading Classical Academy; A.M., Lafayette College, 1867; Ph.D., Ursinus College, 1892; D.D., Chicago Lutheran Seminary, 1901; high school principal, Tremont (1862-1863); high school principal, Hamburg (1864-1867); professor, mathmatics and astronomy, Lebanon Valley College (1875-1889); elected, delegate, Republican State Convenetion (1880); teacher, ancient and modern langauages, North Broad Street Seminary, Philadelphia (1883-1887); president, Lebanon Valley College (1890-1897); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1901 and 1903 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1905 term; treasurer, Lebanon Valley College (1905-1909); died, August 27, 1909 in Annville, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Annville Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
