BENSON, Edward R., a Representative from McKean County; born in Mount Jewett, McKean County, Pa., September 28, 1883; graduated, Mount Jewett High School, 1902; office worker, Erie Railroad (3 years); member, McKean County Democratic Committee (secretary, 1909); secretary, Mount Jewett Borough (1906-1907); elected, justice of the peace (1908-1910); elected, jury commissioner, McKean County (1909-1910); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1910 and 1912; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); died, May 23, 1943 in Mount Jewett, McKean County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bridge View Cemetery, Mount Jewett, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
