BENDER, Hillorious Kester, a Representative from Northampton County; born in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, Pa., April 9, 1850; graduated, Stroudsburg Seminary; teacher (33 years); principal (17 years); superintendent of schools, Northampton County (1899-1905); agent, J.P. Lippincott Company and Ginn & Company; elected, burgess, East Bangor; elected, council president, East Bangor; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1910 and served 1 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1912); died, May 5, 1922 in East Bangor, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, Northampton County, Pennsylvania
