BECKER, Christian, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, April 7, 1851 in Germany; coal miner; wheelwright; operator, carriage and wagon business; school director, Tamaqua; elected, council, Tamaqua (18 years); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1910); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1912 and 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1916); died, October 17, 1917 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
