BEACOM, James Spear, a Representative from Westmoreland County, born, December 9, 1853 in Westmoreland County, Pa.; graduated, Washington and Jefferson College, 1880; lawyer (1884-1922); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1886 and 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); elected, delegate at large, Republican National Convention (1896); elected, treasurer, Pennsylvania Treasury Department (1898-1900); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); appointed, judge, Westmoreland County Orphan’s Court (1920-1922); died, February 15, 1930 in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
