BAYLE, Samuel Brecht, a Representative from Erie County; born in McKean Township, Erie County, Pa., August 20, 1860; graduated, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), 1889; M.A., Allegheny College, 1892; postgraduate study, University of West Virginia; attorney (1891-1941); farmer; principal, Waterford High School, Erie (1899-1901); superintendent of schools, Erie County (1902-1908); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1908 and 1912; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1910); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); died, April 9, 1941 in McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
