CAPPABIANCA, Italo S., a Representative of Erie County; born in Erie, Erie County, Pa., December 19, 1936; graduated, Strong Vincent High School, 1955; B.A., political science, Gannon College, 1968; served, United States Army (1956-1958); travel agent and president, Cappabianca Travel and Earth Tours, Inc.; commissioner, Erie Housing Authority (1975-1978); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1978; elected to serve 11 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, chair, Special Bipartisan Committee to Investigate Food and Cheese Distribution (1984); appointed, chair, Select Committee to Study Business Activities of Nonprofits (1987-1988); died while in office, May 28, 2001 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Calvary Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
