COHEN, Lita Indzel, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., December 20, 1940; graduated, Lower Merion Senior High School, 1958; B.A., political science, University of Pennsylvania, cum laude, 1962; J.D., University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1965; attended, Uiveristy of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; attorney, Henderson, Wetherill & O’Hey (1964); attorney, Lew, Mandel & Miller (1965-1966); assistant council, Housing and Urban Development, Philadelphia (1966-1967); assistant council, School District of Philadelphia (1967-1971); member, Lower Merion Planning Commission (1973-1985); vice president, Council of Radio Stations, WHAT & WUDB (1976-1983); president, Orange Productions (1983-1985); president, Lita Cohen Radio Services (1985-1993); elected, commissioner, Lower Merion Township (1985-1993); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission (1991-2002); appointed, Select Committee on Nonpreferred Appropriations (1994); unsuccesful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (Special election, 2001); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2002); gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission (2003-2006); board member, Susquehanna Patriot Bank; development chair, board member and trustee, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
