ARNOLD, John S., a Representative from Perry County; born in Liverpool Township, Perry County, Pa., August 10, 1863; graduated, Central State Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); attended, Wesleyan University; farmer; teacher; principal, Millerstown schools (1885-1891); manager, Southeastern Branch, Central Lyceum Bureau; proprietor, R.L. Myers Textbook Company (1891-1897); owner and director, Central Teachers’ Agency (1898-1931); school director, Duncannon; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); owner, Duncanon Record; died, March 22, 1931 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred at East Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
