AMSLER, Cornelius Washington, a Representative from Forest County; born, July 3, 1849 near Fryburg, Clarion County, Pa.; educated in public schools; oil driller and operator (1870-1884); mercantile businessman (1884-1906); lumberman; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Marienville (1889); director, Gold Standard National Bank, Marienville; director, First National Bank of Fryburg; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1902; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1904); vice-president, Citizens’ Trust Company, Clarion; elected, council, Clarion; died, November 8, 1932 in Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
