MACKERETH, Beverly, a Representative from York County; born, January 27, 1958 in Washington, DC; graduated, Montgomery Blair High School, 1975; B.S., psychology and sociology, Frostburg State University, 1979; executive director, Healthy York County Coalition; program director, York County District Attorney’s Office; consultant, Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General; elected, council, Spring Grove (1994-1995); elected, mayor, Spring Grove (1997-2000); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2001 term; reelected to 3 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (2008); director, York County Human Services (2008-2012); Deputy Secretary, Office of Children, Youth and Families, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (2012-2013); Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (2013-2015); senior government affairs strategist, Ridge Policy Group; government affairs, Malady & Wooten.
