YOURISHIN, John A., a Representative from Luzerne County; born, May 3, 1889 in White Haven, Luzerne County, Pa.; coal miner; secretary-treasurer, District No. 7, United Mine Workers of America (20 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1933, 1935 and the 1937 terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee to Revise Anthracite Mine Laws (1937-1938); unsuccessful campaign for reelection for the 1939 term; died, December 23, 1954 in Hazelton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
