WOODSIDE, Robert Elmer, Jr., a Representative from Dauphin County; born, June 4, 1904 in Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pa.; graduated, Millersburg High School; A.B., Dickinson College, 1926; LL.B., Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1928; page, Pennsylvania State Senate (1921-1923); attorney-at-law; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1933 term; reelected to serve 4 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Majority Leader (1939-1940); elected, Minority Leader (1941-1942); appointed, Joint Legislative Commission to Investigate Philadelphia Courts (1937-1938); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1939-1940); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1939-1940); resigned from the House, December 31, 1941; appointed, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Dauphin County (1942-1951); appointed, Pennsylvania Attorney General (1951-1953); appointed, judge, Pennsylvania Superior Court (1954-1964); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, Superior Court (1964); chairman, Pennsylvania Commission on Constitutional Revision (1959); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1967-1968); adjunct professor, Dickinson School of Law  (1970-1990); trustee, Dickinson College; law partner, Mette, Evans & Woodside; died, March 18, 1998 in Sun City, Maricopa County, Arizona.
