WOOD, Lloyd Hobart, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Grampian, Clearfield County, Pa., October 25, 1896; graduated, Central High School (Winchester, Tn.); B.S., Ursinus College; LL.B., Temple University School of Law; corporal, United States Marine Corps (World War I and World War II); attorney-at-law; chair, Montgomery County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1939 term and reelected to serve 3 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Thomas Jefferson Bicentennial Commission (1941-1944); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1945-1946:  Sub-Committee on Cooperatives, 1945-1946; chair, Sub-Committee on Tax Study, 1945-1946); resigned from the House, February 11, 1946; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1947-1950);  appointed, Joint Legislative Tax Study (1947-1948); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Education (1947-1948); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Decedents’ Estates Laws (1947-1948); elected, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor (1951-1955); unsuccessful campaign, Governor of Pennsylvania (1954); elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1957-1959); died, February 15, 1964 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
