WITKIN, Morton, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, April 25, 1895 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1913; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania, 1917; private, Quartermaster Corps, United States Army (World War I); attorney-at-law; elected as a Republican to serve the 1925 term; reelected to the House for 5 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Minority Leader (1935-1936); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1936); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1932, 1936, 1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968); elected, commissioner, Philadelphia County (1937-1951); died, April 20, 1973 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
