BOYES, Karl William, a Representative from Erie County; born in Erie, Erie County, Pa., March 1, 1936; graduated, Strong Vincent High School; B.S., Edinboro State Teachers College (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), 1959; graduate courses, Allegheny and Union Colleges, 1961-1962; high school teacher (1959-1965); supervisor, Millcreek Township (1965-1970); deputy director, Governor’s Justice Commission (1971-1975); elected, commissioner, Erie County (1976-1979); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1980; reelected to 11 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (1991-1994); died while in office, May 11, 2003 in Florida; interred, Perry Township Cemetery, Perry, Lake County, Ohio.
