WHITENIGHT, Mathias Pursel, a Representative from Columbia County; born July 9, 1886 in Hemlock Township, Columbia County, Pa.; graduated, Hemlock Township High School; graduated, Bloomsburg Literary Institute and Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); school teacher; farm implement dealer (1913-1955); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1937 term (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1938); died, January 21, 1968 in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
