WEST, Richard Holt, a Representative from Beaver County; born, July 4, 1908 in Beaver, Beaver County, Pa.; A.B., Virginia Military Institute; LL.B., University of Pittsburgh Law School; lieutenant colonel, F.A., 103rd Infantry Division and United States Group Control Council, United States Army (1942-1946, World War II); lawyer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1946; appointed, Flood Control Commission (1947-1948); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1948); gubernatorial appointee, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Beaver County (1951-1952); died, May 27, 1952 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred, Beaver Cemetery and Mausoleum, Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
