WATKINS, Ivan C., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pa., November 13, 1892; attended, Tower City High School; sergeant first class, 29th Service Company, Signal Corps, Aviation Section, United States Army (1917-1919, World War I); president and sales manager, J.B. Watkins & Brother, Inc., wholesale tobacco and confectionary stores; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1937 term (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936) and served 8 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint State Government, Sub-Committee on Child Welfare Laws, Juvenile Delinquency and Institutions (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Retirement Systems and Laws (1947-1948); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1949-1954); died while in office, March 18, 1954 in Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
