VOORHEES, Charles Edmund, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, August 10, 1909 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, United States Military Academy; first lieutenant, Pennsylvania National Guard; second lieutenant, United States Cavalry, United States Army (1942-1946, World War II); secretary to President Judge Charles L. Brown, Philadelphia Municipal Court; engaged, real estate business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1939 and 1941 terms; resigned from the House, February 14, 1942; died, September 19, 1992 in Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida; interred, Cedar Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Newburgh, Orange County, New York.
