VAN ALLSBURG, John E., a Representative from Erie County; born, May 13, 1873 in Grand Haven, Ottawa County, Mi.; attended, Valparaiso University; B.S., Michigan State (University) College; teacher (18 years); elected, Board of Education, Everett, Washington; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1935 term and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Legislative Committee to Study the Public School System (1935-1936); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1939-1940, 1943-1944); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1945 term; died, October 24, 1957 in Conewengo Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania; interred, North East Cemetery, North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
