TROUT, Harry E., a Representative from Lancaster County; born in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pa., November 25, 1870; B.A., B.S., M.A., Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania), 1893; teacher (14 years); school superintendent, Clearfield, Pa. (1901-1908); engaged in insurance and real estate business (1908-1914); founder and director, Manheim Building and Loan Association (1911-1947); publisher, Manheim Sentinel (1914-1947); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election on November 7, 1933; Sworn-In, November 13, 1933 to serve the remaining 1933 term; reelected to the House to serve 7 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee to Investigate Industrial Taxes (1937-1938); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1943-1946; Sub-Committee on Motor Trucks Highway Safety, 1943-1946; Sub-Committee on Agricultural Products, 1943-1946; ); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1943-1946; Sub-Committee on Tax Study, 1945-1946); appointed, Commission to Study Highway Laws (1945-1946); died while in office, August 6, 1947 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
