Hiram, a Representative from Berks County; born in Bethel Township, Berks County, Pa., October 20, 1906; graduated, Bethel Township High School; B.A., Franklin and Marshall College; B.A., Albright College; general merchandise and farm machinery business; elected, justice of the peace (1933-1942); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1943 and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Local Government Commission (1947-1954l chair, 1949-1954); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1952); elected, delegate, Democrat National Convention (1952); general manager, Bethel and Mt. Aetna Telephone (1958-1971); president, Reading Mutual Insurance Company; died, October 30, 1986; interred, Frystown Cemetery, Frystown, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
