SURFACE, Harvey A., a Representative from Snyder County; born in Waynesville, Warren County, Oh., 1867; B.S., National Normal University; B.S., Ohio State University; B.S., Illinois State University; M.S., Cornell University; D.Sc., Franklin and Marshall College; professor of nature, Ohio State University and Cornell University; assistant, New York Fish Commission; assistant, United States Fish Commission; professor of zoology, The Pennsylvania State University (7 years); economic zoologist, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (15 years); professor of biology, Susquehanna University (1931); author, numerous science publications; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1931 term; reelected to the House to serve the 1933 and 1935 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1937 term; died, July 8, 1941 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
