STUART, George Donnell, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, Charleroi, Washington County, Pa. on August 24, 1896; graduated, Tarentum High School, 1915; corporal, United States Army (1917-1919, World War I); major, United States Army Reserves (1942-1944, World War II); publication assistant, The Valley Daily News, Tarentum (1919-1920); editor, News-Dispatch, Tarentum (1921-1971); justice of the peace, Brackenridge (1922-1925); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1944; reelected to the House in 1946 and 1948; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Mental Health Laws (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1950); died, May 17, 1972 in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
