SHUGARTS, Blake Bryan, a Representative from Clearfield County; born in Boggs Township, Clearfield County, Pa., February 7, 1897; served, American Expeditionary Forces, United States Army (World War I); teacher; timekeeper, Aetna Explosive Company; letter carrier, United States Post Office, Clearfield Borough (1922-1926); elected, tax collector, Clearfield Borough (1925-1930); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1933 term and reelected to serve the 1935 and 1937 terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Commission Created to Study Bituminous Coal Mines (1937-1938); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1938); died, March 26, 1951 in Elsmere, New Castle County, Delaware; interred, Stoneville Cemetery, Boggs Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
