SHEA, Dr. Thomas Emmet, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Summithill, Carbon County, Pa., October 23, 1878; graduated, Summithill High School; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College); captain, Medical Reserve Corps, United States Army (World War I, Panama Canal); teacher, brain anatomy and neurology; physician; school director (1905-1906); elected, city council, Philadelphia (1907-1910); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1912); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1937 term (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1939 term; died, January 30, 1940 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
