SEYLER, Harry E., a Representative from York County; born in York, York County, Pa., August 20, 1908; graduated, York High School, 1967; A.B., Washington and Jefferson College; M.S., University of Pennsylvania; staff sergeant, United States Army (1943-1945, World War II); employed, Office of Economic Opportunity, Philadelphia; principal, Hannah Penn Junior High School, York; director of adult education and assistant superintendent, York County School District; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1949, 1951 and 1953 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1955-1962); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1961-1962); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, State Senate (1962); Sunday managing editor, The Gazette and Daily (York Daily Record); died, January 23, 1994, in York, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Rose Cemetery, York, York County, Pennsylvania.
