SCHROCK, Jacob B., a Representative from Somerset County; born, December 31, 1872 in Stony Creek Township, Somerset County, Pa.; graduated, Southwestern Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, California), 1895; teacher (7 years); clerk, Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Connellsville (2 years); cashier, First National Bank (13 years); secretary, Co-operative Mutual Fire Insurance Company (5 years); vice-president, superintendent and general manager, Pine Hill Fuel Company (8 years); elected, board of school directors, Berlin (20 years); director, Hood College, Frederick, Md.; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican to the 1929 term; reelected and served 5 more consecutive terms; appointed, Committee to Investigate Construction of a Highway on South Penn Railroad Route (1935-1936); not a candidate for reelection in to the House for the 1941 term; died, October 6, 1953 in Berlin, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; interred, International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery, Berlin, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
