SALUS, Samuel Wider, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, August 30, 1872 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1891; graduated, Law Department, University of Pennsylvania, 1895; attorney; elected, common council, Philadelphia (1902-1903); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1903 and 1909 terms; Assistant District Attorney, Philadelphia County (1904-1907); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1911-1938); elected, Senate President pro tempore (1925-1926); reelected to the House for the 1943 and 1945 terms; died while in office, December 29, 1945 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
