ROOT, Morris Jacob (Moische Rudnitzky), a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Novogrudock, Russia (Belarus), November 4, 1895; graduated, South Philadelphia High School, 1915; B.S., University of Pennsylvania, 1920; Certified Public Accountant; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1927, 1929, 1931, 1933, 1935, 1943, 1945, and 1947 terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Tax-Exempt Real Property (1947-1948); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1937, 1939 and 1941 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1949 term; unsuccessful campaign, registrar of wills, Philadelphia County (1953); member, board, Albert Einstein Medical Center; died, September 23, 1982 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
