RIDER, John L., a Representative from Fayette County; born, February 26, 1878 in German Township, Fayette County, Pa.; attended, Dunbar and Smithfield Academies; school teacher (8 years); assistant mine foreman and plant superintendent, Nicola Building Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1938; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1940); elected, register of wills, Fayette County (1947-1963); died, November 20, 1963 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, McClellandtown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
