PROPERT, Henry J., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Bethayres, Montgomery County, Pa., April 9, 1906; graduated, Lower Moreland High School; studied business, banking, and accounting; employed by Main and Company Certified Accountants; treasurer, School District of Lower Moreland Township (1929-1933); elected, tax collector and treasurer, Lower Moreland Township (1937-1961); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1945 term and reelected to serve 2 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Corporations and Cooperatives (1947-1948); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1951-1964); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1961-1962); appointed, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (1961-1964); died while in office of the Senate, January 9, 1964 in Abington, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
