POWERS, John Lewis, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, February 8, 1880 in Baltimore, Md.; attended public schools; engaged in the wall paper and paint business; chair, 25th Ward Democratic Committee; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1932; reelected and served 8 consecutive terms thereafter; died while in office, July 28, 1949 in Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
