McNAIR, William Nissley, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, October 5, 1880 in Middletown, Dauphin County, Pa.; graduated, Gettysburg College; graduated, University of Michigan Law School; lawyer; elected, mayor of Pittsburgh (1934-1936); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1945 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1946); died, September 13, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri; interred, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
