McLANE, James J., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Avoca, Luzerne County, Pa., August 5, 1910; graduated, Avoca High School; graduated, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy; served, United States Army (4 years, World War II); engaged, pharmaceutical sales; engaged, distiller sales (15 years); operator, West Side Distributing Company (9 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1939 and 1941 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1943 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1946); elected, mayor, Avoca (1947-1968); employed, assessor's office, Luzerne County; died, December 10, 1968 in Avoca, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Avoca, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
