McLANAHAN, Robert J., a Representative from Beaver County; born in Elderton, Armstrong County, Pa., May 6, 1871; attended, Sheet Metal and Pattern Drafting School; attended, Textbook and Partial School of Scranton; attended, Lasche Distillers’ School, Milwaukee; chemist; draftsman; justice of the peace; elected, council, Adamsburg, Westmoreland County; elected, council, Avonmore, Westmoreland County; erecting engineer, Perpoint Boiler Company, Pittsburgh; ran express, Union Pacific, Pacific Express Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1940 and 1944; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1942); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1946); died, March 13, 1960 in Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
