McGARRITY, James Aloysius, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, June 10, 1893 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School; attended, Pierce Business College; train dispatcher and station master, Pennsylvania Railroad (1908-1959); member, 46th Ward Republican Committee (1928--1958); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1939 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1940, 1950); member, 55th Ward Republican Committee (1958-1974); died, February 15, 1985 in Media, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
