McCLESTER, Albert Benson, a Representative from Butler County; born in Grove City, Mercer County, Pa., June 9, 1892; graduated, Slippery Rock High School; graduated, Slippery Rock State Normal School (now Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania), 1911; graduated, Eastman Business School, NY, 1913; sergeant, Quartermaster Corps, United States Army (World War I); teacher (1 year); bank teller (14 years); life insurance agent; unsuccessful campaign to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1936); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1938; served 3 more consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint State Government Commission Sub-Committee on State-Local Highway Financing (1945-1946); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1946); died, July 6, 1978 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
