McCLANAGHAN, Francis X., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, July 8, 1906 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; attended, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School; A.B., St. Joseph’s College, 1927; LL.B., Temple University Law School; intellegence officer, United States Navy (3 years, World War II); lieutenant commander, United States Navy Reserves; attorney; Deputy Attorney General, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General (1936-1939); director, William Penn Fire Insurance Company; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1941 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1943 term; Special Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Liquidation Division, Pennsylvania Insurance Department (1957-1959); elected, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County (1960-1970); died, February 17, 1973 in Atlantic City, Atlantic County, New Jersey; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
