MARKS, Fred, a Representative from Berks County; born in New York City, New York County, NY, October 19, 1890; professional boxer; police officer, Reading (1913-1916); professional baseball umpire, United States League (10 years); Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1921-1922); investigator, Prudential Insurance Company; agent, United States Internal Revenue Department; detective, Berks County (1931-1940); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1941 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1943 term; investigator, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; died, March 23, 1962 in Greenfields, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
