MAHANY, Rowland B., a Representative from Crawford County; born in Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ, November 2, 1904; graduated, Meadville High School; A.B., Allegheny College; LL.B., Dickinson College School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law); attorney; solicitor, Titusville (1936); Republican City Chairman of Titusville (1940); member, Republican Executive Committee of Crawford County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1943 and 1945 terms; appointed, Joint State Government Commission Sub-Committee on Child Welfare Laws, Juvenile Delinquency and Institutions (1945-1946); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1946); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1947-1958, 1963-1968); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Tax-Exempt Real Property (1947-1948); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Mental Health Laws (1947-1948); appointed, Local Government Commission (1947-1952); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1955-1958); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1957-1958); died, July 2, 2000 in Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida; interred, Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
