MADDEN, Dr. John R., a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, August 3, 1886 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pa.; D.D.S., University of Pittsburgh Dental School, 1913; dentist (34 years); president and director, Mount Pleasant State Bank; treasurer, Mount Pleasant Building and Loan Association; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1938, 1944, 1946, and 1950; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1940, 1942); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1948, 1952); died July 4, 1971 in McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Pius X Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
